Hostel Detroit is a non-profit organization dedicated in providing budget lodging for visitors to the city.  Founded in 2010 by Emily Doerr, the construction of the hostel was made possible with $5,000 and help of volunteers  and by April 2011 hosted his first guest.  Today, the hostel is managed by Zach Fairchild and Evan Ambrose who generously offered our team of four the accommodation while filming the DIY Destinations – Detroit episode.  The hostel offers guest budget dorm style beds and privates rooms on two floors, with multiple clean kitchens and bathrooms.  The common amenities includes, television rooms, a terrance on the first and second floor, a computer lounge and a dining room.  The street parking is free, but the hostel also gated parking and bicycle rentals.

Kitchens are fully stocked with cookwares and free spices.
